Travelling to the UK 

There are various rules you must be aware of if you are travelling to the UK internationally. If you are travelling internationally, you may be required to quarantine.  Please see the College's Arriving in the UK webpages for the latest information.

Arrivals instructions

Each hall has specific instructions that you should be aware of before you arrive, including parking and contact information. 

In the interest of minimising the number of people in halls during arrivals period, we ask that you limit the guests that you bring to help you move-in wherever possible.

Chapter Islington

Chapter Islington is located at:

Arrival instructions will have already been provided as part of your Chapter Islington Check In Information. Please consult locally with Chapter Islington if you have any questions or concerns. 

Parking is available in the courtyard for 30mins to offloadOnce unloaded, you will need to find alternative local parking solutions. There's free parking on Market Road on Saturdays and Sundays. 

Caledonian Road (Piccadilly line) is a 5-minute walk from your hall, whilst Caledonian Road & Barnsbury Overground station is just a 10-minute walk away. The 274 bus runs from Angel Islington to Lancaster Gate via Hyde Park, providing direct access to central London and the areas around South Kensington.  More details of public transport in London can be found on the Transport for London website: www.tfl.gov.uk

Evelyn Gardens

Vehicles will be able to unload outside of the hall for 15-20 minutes, but someone must remain present at all timesOnce unloaded, you will need to find alternative local parking solutions. If possible, we highly recommend you arrive via public transport. The closest tube station is Gloucester Road (Circle, District and Picadilly Lines).

Kemp Porter Buildings

Kemp Porter Buildings are located at: 

142 Wales Farm Road, North Acton

You should follow the Kemp Porter arrivals traffic flow when travelling to the hall.

Arriving by car

Parking at Kemp Porter Buildings is extremely limited and we highly recommend you arrive by public transport. If you need to arrive by car, you will be able to unload outside the hall for 15-20 minutes, but someone must remain present with your vehicle at all times. Please anticipate a queue for unloading space in our car parking area. Limited parking for a further period may be available in the surrounding area, although not close enough to unload belongings. This includes approximately 50 designated parking spaces in the nearby Currys (formerly Carphone Warehouse). You may also wish to use parking apps such as JustPark

Please be aware that Kemp Porter is a tall building and we ask that you think very carefully about what you bring as large amounts of belongings can cause congestion of the lifts and stairwells during the busy arrival period.  

Arriving by public transport

We have been informed by Transport for London (TfL) that there will be closures on the Central Line between Queensway and Ealing Broadway/West Ruislip on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 October. This means you will be unable to use North Acton station to arrive at Kemp Porter Buildings this weekend. Due to our limited car parking capacity, we still advise that you arrive by public transport wherever possible. However, you will likely need to allow for additional time in your journey. Alternative routes may include:

If arriving from Heathrow

  • Take the Picadilly line to Acton Town, transfer to the District line to Ealing Common and then take rail replacement bus service CL-1 to North Acton.

If arriving from central London

  • Take the Overground to Shepherd's Bush and take rail replacement bus service CL-1 to North Acton.
  • Or take the Bakerloo line to Willesden Junction and take rail replacement bus service CL-2 to North Acton.

These recommendations are correct at the time of sending and are subject to change at short notice - please consult maps and local information prior to departing.

Pembridge Hall

Pembridge Hall is located at:

Southside

The Costume Store

There is ample parking available on campus during arrivals. You can unload belongings very close to all our halls. Once unloaded it is asked that you then move your car to one of the car parks on campus to allow others to unload.

Xenia

Xenia is located at:

Vehicles will be able to unload outside of the hall for 15-20 minutes, but someone must remain present at all times. There will be a one-way system in place outside Xenia – please follow signage on the day.

If possible, we highly recommend you arrive via public transport. The closest tube station is Waterloo (Bakerloo, Jubilee, Northern Lines and National Rail).
