An Audience-Centred Approach (Webinar)

This webinar has been designed to highlight the importance of knowing your audience and your purpose before designing a presentation. You will learn how to structure a presentation and communicate your message clearly using various tools and techniques.  You will also watch a video of a bad presentation and provide constructive feedback on how you can improve it.

On completion of this webinar, you will be able to:

  • Identify your audience, purpose, fears and the use of various tools and techniques before presenting
  • Analyse the structure, slide design and content of your presentation
  • Evaluate the quality of presentations and provide feedback
  • Analyse and evaluate the use of spoken language, body language and responses to questions when presenting

Presenting your Research by Poster (Webinar)

Academic posters are a great way to convey your research to an audience.  By following a few simple rules most common design blunders can be avoided.  In this course you will learn how to structure and design your poster by identifying relevant content, fonts, colours and background.  You will also learn some tips on how to present the information on your poster.

By the end of this webinar participants will be better able to:

  • Identify the criteria/standards, audience, and the purpose before creating your poster
  • Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of posters to engage with an audience
  • Identify the most appropriate layout, fonts, colours and relevant content to apply on your poster
  • Recognise how to present the key points of your poster
