If you are holding a conditional offer from Imperial, which you accept, your place will only be confirmed once you meet all the offer conditions specified on UCAS Track, e.g. you achieve the grades we’ve asked for in the required subjects.

If you're an Overseas student, this may include meeting our English language requirement and gaining ATAS clearance for your course, as well as achieving the grades we've asked for in the subjects specified.

Replying to your offers

Once you have received decisions on all your applications, you will need to reply to your offers in UCAS Track.

No matter how many offers you have received, you can only accept two:

  • Your firm (first) choice – you’ll be committed to going here if you meet the offer conditions. You can’t choose your insurance choice on results day instead.
  • An insurance (second) choice – this is your back up. You’ll only go here if you aren’t accepted by your firm choice and you meet the conditions of your insurance offer.

You must reply to your offers by the deadline given in UCAS Track. Find out more about replying to your offers on the UCAS website.

Submitting your results

UCAS automatically sends us the exam results for A-levels, Pre-U Certificate, International Baccalaureate, Irish Leaving Certificates, Scottish Highers and STEP, if taken in the year you apply

If you are taking other qualifications, you must send us the original transcript of your results (or a copy stamped and signed by your school) by the date specified in your offer.

For more information, including the postal address where you need to send your results, see Submitting your offer conditions.

Demonstrating your English language ability

All applicants need to show that they meet our English language requirement for entry. We have two levels of achievement – standard or higher level.

If a language condition is included in your offer you will need to submit evidence that you have reached the required standard. The Admissions team must receive this by 16 July 2020

See our English language requirement page for more details on the proficiency tests and qualifications we accept.

If you narrowly miss your offer conditions

If Imperial is your firm choice and you narrowly miss the offer conditions, you will need to check the UCAS Track website on Thursday 13 August 2020 (A-level results day) to see if you have still been accepted.

The decisions recorded here are final and are based on careful consideration of your results.

Deferring your offer

We try and accommodate all requests to take a year out before taking up your place (known as deferred entry) but sometimes this isn’t possible.

If you wish to defer, please contact the relevant Admissions team as soon as possible.

If you are granted a deferral you will still have to meet all the conditions set out in your offer by the specified deadlines.

Questions about your offer?

For questions about your offer, or to let us know about extenuating circumstances beyond your control (such as illness or bereavement) that may have impacted on your academic performance, please contact the relevant Admissions team.

In the case of extenuating circumstances, you need to contact us by no later than 16 July 2020.
