Generous financial support

We want to attract the very best students to Imperial, regardless of their financial background. That's why we offer the most generous bursary scheme of its kind of any UK university, as well as a wide range of scholarships.
The Imperial Bursary explained
The Imperial Bursary
The Imperial Bursary is designed to ease the cost of London living. It provides support on a sliding scale to Home students with household incomes of up to £60,000 per year, making it the most generous bursary scheme of its kind in the UK.
The Imperial Bursary is designed to complement the government’s funding so it is paid in addition to any government loans to which you’re already entitled.
There is no separate application process for the Imperial Bursary: we award them based on household income assessments done by the relevant government funding body (i.e. Student Finance England for students from England), so only Home students who have applied for means-tested government funding and given consent to share their details with us are eligible. As long as your household income remains below £60,000 you will automatically qualify for a bursary for every year of study.
Unlike government funding, the bursary is paid in monthly instalments throughout the academic year so your budget will receive a regular boost.
