The White City Campus is the next exciting chapter in Imperial’s history. We are creating a place for collaboration and co-location with business, academia, the local community and other partners.
Below is a timetable of buildings and works at the White City Campus, including those already complete as well as planned construction activity for future buildings.
The exact dates of projected works are subject to changes and alterations, and for the very latest information, Imperial publishes a monthly round-up of detailed construction updates in the form of a pdf newsletter, which can be downloaded from the link on the right.

North site development
GradPad (Building B) opened in 2012 providing postgraduate accommodation for over 600 of Imperial’s postgraduate students.
The Translation & Innovation Hub (I-HUB) (Building D) opened in 2016 provides space for companies to work alongside Imperial researchers and turn scientific and technological innovations into new products and services. The I-HUB is home to the Imperial White City Incubator, which offers flexible workspace and support for young businesses. It’s also the location of Central Working White City – a shared workspace collaboration between Central Working and Imperial College London ThinkSpace.
The Molecular Sciences Research Hub (MSRH) (Building C) opened in autumn 2018 and provides a new research home for Imperial's Department of Chemistry. It brings together nearly 800 scientists, clinicians, engineers and business partners who are collaborating under one roof.
Eighty Eight Wood Lane (Building F) is due for completion in Q4 2019.
Hard landscaping work around the base of the Residential Building continues, while the fitting out and commissioning of apartments is progressing up the building.
Construction is well underway on the The Sir Michael Uren Biomedical Engineering Research Hub (Building E) which will be operational combine the latest medical research and engineering to improve the treatment and diagnosis of diverse medical conditions, from finding ways to cure dementia to creating bionic limbs

An academic design team is currently developing the design brief for the new building which will become home to Imperial’s School of Public Health (Building G). Earlier this year the College launched a fundraising campaign to support the School’s expansion. Plot G, on which the School of Public Health will be built, was granted detailed planning approval in November 2018 as part of the approval for the revised White City Campus north site masterplan.

Plot A has outline planning permission for 5,900 sq m of office space (granted in 2012). In January of this year Imperial submitted a detailed planning application which specified some changes to height and floor space – this application was approved by the Council in November 2018.
We are continuing our efforts to deliver the pedestrian and cycle underpass between our North Site and Latimer Road by working with LBHF, RBKC, the Westway Trust and Network Rail. As discussions between these parties continue, the key outstanding issues are responsibility for management of the completed underpass and the planning application which is not yet approved. This has caused a delay in its delivery but we are working hard to overcome these challenges and remain committed to pursuing its implementation.
South site development
The Inventions Rooms, at Stadium House, opened in November 2017 as a new and unprecedented approach to community engagement and outreach.
As an extension to The Invention Rooms at Stadium House, a new Interaction Zone, community café and garden terrace area opened in December 2018.
A series of launch events will be taking place throuhgout early 2019 for local neighbours and the wider College community.
In September 2018 Infrastructure works (phase 1) commenced in preparation for Scale Space - a 200,000 sq ft new technology and innovation centre providing space for new, high growth technology companies.
The infrastructure will be completed in phases, with the first phase complete by late 2019 and the final phase complete by late 2020
These works include the installation of utility services, fibre broadband, roads and landscaping. The work will be carried out by our contractor Erith. A key part of these works will include raising the levels of the ground of the site to match the levels of White City Living and our planned bridge for the Depot Road entrance.
