We are excited to be opening a new space for the local community, called The Invention Rooms, which will be a place for creativity, learning and innovation.

Opening later in 2017, The Invention Rooms will include workshops, design studios and an interactive space for community events and activities.  Whether you want to attend a workshop, meet with friends, play with the latest 3D technology or turn your creative ideas into reality, The Invention Rooms will be a place for you.

We’re proud to be developing this space on Wood Lane in the former Stadium House building, where the College and community can interact and collaborate in an entirely new way.  This is the first project of its kind anywhere in the UK and we hope it will inspire the next generation of inventors and entrepreneurs from White City and beyond.

The Maker Challenge

In autumn 2017, Imperial will be launching the first of our Maker Challenge programmes in The Invention Rooms.

These will be programmes for local 14-18 year-olds to develop their own ideas from concepts to prototypes. The programmes will be run in the evenings, weekends and during the school holidays, and will help young people gain new tech skills, as well as boosting their teamwork skills, confidence and creativity. Our students and staff will be on hand to provide training and support.

If you would like to get involved at The Invention Rooms, please contact Tom and Priya on: whitecity.community@imperial.ac.uk
