Researching new and affordable medical technologies
Work at the Michael Uren Biomedical Engineering Research Hub (BmE Hub) will combine the latest medical research and engineering to improve the treatment and diagnosis of diverse medical conditions, from finding new ways to detect cancer to creating bionic limbs.
Made possible thanks to an unprecedented £40 million gift from Sir Michael Uren OBE and his foundation, over 500 engineers, clinicians and scientists will develop new and affordable medical technologies at the building.
The facility builds on the momentum of Imperial’s Institute of Biomedical Engineering and the Francis Crick Institute, in which we are a partner.
