Advance in material model development will require substantial changes to source code of an existing explicit dynamics code. ANSYS Autodyn is ideal for modelling blast - structure interactions and would be used in this project.

The use of such a material model would be applicable to a wide variety of scenarios. It is envisaged that developments in such a material model would create a framework that would be directly applicable to bio-materials. The interaction of blast waves with objects and the subsequent coupling and wave interactions are ideally represented in Autodyn. Therefore, a tool would be developed that would be ideally suited to analysing, and give valuable insight into blast injuries.
