Degree award documentation issued upon successful completion of programmes delivered remotely due to the coronavirus pandemic will not contain any reference to online delivery. If you have any queries, please contact the Registry Assessment Records Team at certificates@imperial.ac.uk

Academic experience

This section tells you what your academic experience will be based on three scenarios:

  • under minimal COVID restrictions
  • under partial COVID restrictions, which allows students to be on campus whilst following guidelines
  • under full COVID restrictions, which means a return to lockdown, should there be another outbreak of coronavirus.

Personal Tutoring

Under minimal COVID restrictions: Personal tutorials will take place in-person or in multi-mode format depending on your department. 

Under partial COVID restrictionsPersonal tutorials will take place either in multi-mode format or remotely, depending on your department.  

Under full COVID restrictions: Personal tutorials will take place remotely.   

Centre for Academic English

Under minimal COVID restrictions: Full in-person services available in a COVID-safe environment as determined by the timetabling policy and government advice applicable at that time. Some online/remote services will continue to be available for students who prefer that mode of engagement or where digital delivery has proven effective and has received positive feedback. 

Under partial and full COVID restrictionsAll provision will be delivered remotely. 

Imperial Horizons

Under minimal COVID restrictions: A balanced portfolio of in-person and online services is planned in a COVID-safe environment as determined by the timetabling policy and government advice applicable at that time. Some online/remote services will continue to be available for students who prefer that mode of engagement or where digital delivery has proven effective and has received positive feedback. 

Under partial and full COVID restrictionsAll provision will be delivered remotely.

Library Skills and Training

Under minimal COVID restrictions: Multi-mode provision including in-person training will be offered where appropriate in line with departmental requirements. In-person one-to-one training and drop-in services will be available. 

Under partial COVID restrictions: All services will be accessible remotely. Library meeting rooms will be adapted for 1-2-1 training.

Under full COVID restrictions: All services will be accessible remotely.

Placements/Internships

Under minimal COVID restrictions: Your placement will take place in-person, or may be cancelled or rescheduled.  The College will need to adhere to placement provider’s requirements as well as to UK travel advice during the period of your placement, and if opportunities arise. Your department will contact you concerning the alternative module(s) that will be available to you. 

Under partial and full COVID restrictionsYour placement may be cancelled or rescheduled. The College will need to adhere to placement provider’s requirements as well as to UK travel advice during the period of your placement, and if opportunities arise. Your department will contact you concerning the alternative module(s) that will be available to you.

Supervision

Under minimal and partial COVID restrictions: The extent of in-person/remote/multi-mode supervision available will be defined by your home/host department. 

Under full COVID restrictions: Supervision will take place remotely. 

UROP

Under minimal or partial COVID restrictions: UROPs may take place if opportunities arise, and may take place on campus or remotely.  UROPs that are required to take place on campus will be dependent on government advice at that time.  The number and range of available UROPs may be restricted.

Under full COVID restrictions: UROPs may take place if opportunities arise and can be delivered remotely.  The number and range of available of UROPs may be restricted

StudentShapers

Under minimal COVID restrictions:  Most projects can continue in-person or online. Projects that focus on practical hands-on teaching development will ideally take place, butmay not be able to take place depending on government advice. 

Under partial and full COVID restrictions:  Most projects can continue online. Projects that focus on practical hands-on teaching development may not be able to take place.
