Dear Colleagues,

We know the continuing uncertainty over Brexit is a source of unease and anxiety for our staff and students. We are committed to supporting you through this period with information and advice.

The College Brexit Advisory Group is stepping up its activity and widening its membership. They are meeting more frequently to assess how we can best prepare for whatever form Brexit may take. They are working on more detailed contingencies for a no deal scenario and we encourage you to feed into their work through your Heads of Department or Faculty Operating Officers. Alternatively you can email the group directly at

You can also visit our dedicated Imperial and the European Union webpages for further updates and answers to frequently asked questions. If you have specific questions that aren’t covered on the webpages or you need more information there are contact details for staff who can help.

It is important that we continue to send a strong message to decision-makers in Westminster and Brussels that Imperial is a global university that considers Europe an integral part of our research and education mission. We were recently joined in this effort by our colleagues at Technical University of Munich when their President co-signed our letter to the Financial Times on the importance of international scientific collaboration.

Another important Parliamentary debate is scheduled for next week and we will update you again based on the outcome. In the meantime please get in touch with any concerns you want to raise, or ideas you have for how we can best prepare for the impact of Brexit on our research, education and community.

Best wishes,

Alice and Ian
