Coronavirus update - 27 February 2020
The increasing number of cases of coronavirus around the world raises concern for all of us. We want you to know that we are doing all that we can at Imperial to ensure that our community is safe, able to function, and prepared for potential disruption.
You may be aware that our world leading experts are playing a leading role in helping the UK and the world cope with this new health threat, and you can learn more about the disease and follow their regular reports online. They have informed our contingency plans and we are prepared to support you and to enable the College to continue with its mission.
We will review our plans and update our guidance as we receive new information from our experts, and official advice from government and health authorities. We will take proportionate and decisive action to minimise the effect of the virus on the health of our community and on your ability to carry out research and education activity.
We are a capable institution of people who are committed to one another and we will come through this challenge together.
You can expect to hear from us directly and through your departments as we continue to assess the public health risk and its impact on our community. In the meantime we encourage you to visit our coronavirus guidance webpage, for detailed updated information. We will be working with Heads of Department to determine the best course of action in individual situations.
As always, we want to hear from you with your ideas and concerns at firstname.lastname@example.org.
