Support for NHS staff
Library Services aim to minimise the disruption to NHS staff caused by reduced staffing and social distancing measures implemented at Imperial College London libraries. We are offering a full range of remote services to NHS library users to support your education, clinical and organisational decision making and research needs.
Critical care resources
We know that many NHS staff are being asked to work in critical care for the first time and need resources to support this. The Oxford Medicine Online Collection contains a number of high quality e-books on critical care.
- Oxford Handbook of Critical Care Nursing
- Oxford Desk Reference : Critical Care
- Critical Care Nursing : Science and Practice
- Oxford Textbook of Critical Care
To access Oxford Medicine Online click on sign in via your institution. Then select NHS in England from the list of institutions. Log in with your Open Athens username and password. Register here if you do not have an NHS Open Athens account.
We have created a list of accessible e-learning resources related to COVID-19 and critical care. As we identify other useful resources we will add them to this list.

Online access to journals, e-books and databases
NHS and many College subscribed resources are available through Open Athens.
During the disruption to our on-site services caused by the COVID-19 out-break, we are also offering a special service to send NHS staff articles and e-book chapters that would normally only be available by using an Imperial College London PC in one of our libraries.
Use the form below to request up to ten journal articles and / or five e-book chapters. Enter a web link for the items you require and, if you wish, any additional information. We will email the items to you as quickly as possible.
