The winner of the 2020 Aero Photography Competition is: Undergraduate student Mingiyan Ushanov. The judges said of Mingiyan's entry: “Creative posing, composition and excellent quality.”

Runner-up #1 is a photo from Siah Seen Yee, Erin. “It has everything...leading building lines, balanced reflections, blue tonal range and aircraft focal point. Cropping out of the lower darkened buildings dramatically improves the shot. Nearly a winner”.

Bohan Peng, is our other runner-up. He is on a Placement at Airbus and is in the Year In Industry programme and submitted this image. The judges' view: “Great capture, in a fast-moving scene. Layout and lines of aircraft is perfect. It's a stunning visual..."

The Department of Aeronautics first-ever photography competition is now closed! Thank you to all who submitted entries.

And the winner is...Mingiyan Ushanov! Many congratulations to Mingiyan.

Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, the criteria was expanded so that entrants could submit photography capturing how home-working and social distancing.
