St Pauls and Millennium Bridge

Included in the cost of the Summer School is a busy evening and weekend social programme – conducted under the supervision of our Pastoral Mentors.

Social Programme

Laughing StudentsOnce classes finish for the day, the Summer School's packed social programme begins.

The following is a guide to the sort of activities that our social programme typically includes:

  • visits to nearby museums and galleries – London's 850+ art galleries and over 170 museums include some of the world's best
  • sightseeing tours of the city
  • trip to a West End musical
  • on-campus activities including sports activities

Day trips

Day trips outside of London are designed to give you a taste of life outside of the capital.

Trips on previous Summer Schools have included a visit to Warner Bros Studios where the Harry Potter films were created and a trip to popular holiday destination, Brighton.

Free time

Student Reading in RoomYou will be busy most of the day with academic work and social activities but we appreciate that you might also need some time to relax too.

Free time will be provided for rest in the halls of residence before or after class, and before or after weekend activities.

However, we believe that you will get the most out of the Summer School by fully immersing yourself so you should expect to be engaged in team activities for the majority of the day.

Preparing for University

Careers SessionWe know that applying to university can be challenging, and, at times, stressful.

As part of the Summer School programme, we will run workshops and advice sessions about going to university. For example, you might able to take part in workshops on the personal statement that you need to write for your UCAS application or get some top tips on university interviews.
