Whether you are a parent and want to give a fun hands-on science session to your child’s class or a governor at a local primary school who would like to add something to your school’s Key Stage 2 science, you will find some great activities here.

All the activities developed on these pages are free for you to use but if you need help with delivering a session then please get in touch and we will provide the assistance we can. All activities have been designed to be age and Key Stage appropriate but also inspirational and fun.

You may also wish to share these additional resources with your school.

Primary hampers

Our Outreach Primary Hampers are an assortment of science activities to engage and inspire participants to have a greater understanding of the world around them.

Developed by Imperial postgraduate students, these activities have been designed to fit within an hour and can be delivered to either small groups (up to 20 – ideal for clubs) or to a full class.

The Hampers can be used and collected by Imperial staff and students.

What's in a hamper?

Hampers all come with:

  • All necessary kit* and a foldable trolley to help transport
  • Leader notes
  • Presentation on USB (laptop can be requested)
  • Any hand-outs
  • Risk Assessment

* Consumable items that are perishable may not be provided.

Please note depending on demand you may only be able to loan the hamper for a maximum of three days (i.e. day one = collect, day two = deliver activity, day three = return).

If you would like more information around a specific hamper please contact Renee Boling, r.boling@imperial.ac.uk.
