This residential summer school aims to broaden students' interest in and experience of a variety of engineering disciplines with a view to assisting them in making an informed course choice.

Supported by undergraduate mentors, students will experience taster sessions from the various engineering disciplines which are offered in the Faculty. This will include some of the following:

  • Aeronautical Engineering
  • Bio-engineering
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Computing
  • Design Engineering
  • Earth Sciences Engineering
  • Electrical and Electronic Engineering

The course is residential and students will experience broader university life through a series of social activities as well as time to share experiences with other participants and undergraduate mentors.

At the end of the week there will be an academic-style conference where groups will present a poster explaining an engineering concept they learned during the week to their peers, workshop leaders and invited guests.

Please note, there are specific A-level (or equivalent) subject requirements for this summer school - all applicants are required to be studying Maths and Physics.
