MSc Management Science 1984 celebrate their 31 year reunion
The MSc Management Science class of 1983-1984 gathered recently to celebrate their 31 year reunion.
The MSc Management Science class of 1983-1984 gathered on Friday 19 June 2015 at South Kensington Campus to celebrate their 31 year reunion.
The cohort was welcomed back to the Business School by Dean G. “Anand” Anandalingam and given a quick tour of the campus by the Business School’s Head of Alumni Relations, Nicola Pogson before heading to Ognisko, Exhibition Road for dinner.
“The first thing that strikes you as you enter the building is how modern the lobby area and entrance to the Business School is. The whole glass lobby area simply didn’t exist in our days. There were ugly, stark concrete walls and concrete paving, all around,” said Smadar Gabbay, MSc Management Science 1984 and one of the key organisers of the event.
The campus has changed a lot over the last 31 years, but there are still plenty of familiar sights and nostalgia flowed easily amongst the cohort. Smadar had forwarded a copy of the class’ year book to the Alumni Relations team, so copies could be made for those attending (setting off whoops of laughter at their former selves.
“You know you have moved on, but your memories of your cohorts are still as they were 30 plus years ago. Once you get over the initial shock, we were back to our old selves – laughing at old memories, sharing confessions and re-igniting friendships.”
The class book proved a useful tool for reconnecting those involved. 14 members of the class made it back for the reunion, making the journey from all over the UK and as far afield as New York and Toronto, and a number of others wanted to attend but weren’t able to this time.
“We all enjoyed the reunion so much – we want to organise another one soon!” We look forward to seeing you again when you do.
