The efforts of the Imperial Women’s Network committee members have been recognised with the Dean’s Community Award for Alumni. The award recognises those who have gone above and beyond to contribute to the Business School community, through volunteering and enhancing student experience and learning.

The Network has been running for two years and during this time it has hosted many topical and insightful events, covering themes such as personal finance, personal brand, resilience and leadership, unconscious bias and technology predictions. They have also collaborated with EY Women’s Network and the Deloitte Women in Technology Network which have provided unique networking and professional development opportunities. Added to this there have also been a host of informal social networking events which have brought together alumni from the Business School, Imperial College and external guests.
The committee members were nominated by Erin Hallett, Head of Alumni Relations. This is what she had to say about them: “This active, alumnae driven network was founded in 2016 to support and advance women’s leadership in business. The Network has been successful from its inception and the three alumnae are energetic volunteers who also volunteer in other capacities at the Business School, such as serving as alumnae panellists and providing careers advice to students.
The Network has been tremendously successfully at creating strong links with the College and providing female graduates from other Schools and Faculties a space to grow their professional networks.
“The Network also successfully supports the Business School’s brand by hosting their events in partnership with companies such as Deloitte, EY and Johnson & Johnson. The alumnae, both collectively as the Network and as individuals, are tireless advocates for the Business School and embody the spirit of intelligent business, impacting social change and encouraging diversity.”
In response to winning this award Andrea told us: “We are very proud and grateful indeed. We have had another successful year with the Imperial Women’s Network with three high quality events (alongside a few socials) all focused around the theme of ‘growth’. It was wonderful to see new faces at each of the events and experience a higher degree of engagement with alumni that span across the College as a whole. The Network has accomplished so much in its first two years and we are all excited about how much more can be achieved!”
Professor Francisco Veloso commented: “Congratulations, you should be very proud. I encourage you to continue inspiring and supporting students and your alumni peers as part of the Imperial College Business School community.”
