One important reason why I chose to apply for and later accept my offer from Imperial College Business School, was my passion for technology. Imperial College Business School is one of very few top tier business schools that focuses on the fusion of business and technology, for example by including courses that focuses on innovation and digitalisation.
Another great thing with being a part of a top 10 university, is all the people who visit Imperial. Last month Imperial received a visit from the Chinese president, and even Stephen Hawking was set to visit the school (before sadly having to cancel due to illness). However, the most interesting visitor from my point of view, was the CTO of Facebook, Mike Schroepfer. He delivered a very inspiring presentation where all students at Imperial were welcome. And of course, I was first in line. It was a very interesting presentation that covered the future of Facebook and the different areas they are operating in. He covered everything from Facebook’s mission to connect the world, to artificial intelligence and virtual reality. It was all incredibly inspiring and exiting, and I am glad I got the opportunity to enjoy this presentation.
If you, like me, have a passion for technology, then Imperial offers every opportunity for you to combine this with business, economics and finance. That was a very important part in my decision, and so far, Imperial has managed to deliver. I hope and believe that more opportunities like this will present themselves during my year here, and I am already looking forward to them.
