As part of my continuous quest to explore London, I signed up for the International Student Support Team day trip for a guided tour of the Houses of Parliament.
The weather on Saturday was rainy and windy; a perfect day to do something indoors. Our guide Nigel took us on a 90-minute tour where we had the opportunity to follow the route taken by the Queen at the State Opening of Parliament, see the Commons and Lords Chambers and view the Westminster Hall, where Nelson Mandela and Barack Obama once spoke. There are so many wonderful things to see, but photography is not allowed everywhere, so I really made sure to take a really good look at everything!
The trip was a great opportunity to meet so many interesting students from other majors and international backgrounds, while exploring and learning about the British political system and history. I highly recommend visiting the Parliament as it is even more beautiful on the inside than it is on the outside.
My next trip is to Oxford! Would anyone like to join me?
