Imperial College Business School partnered with BML Munjal University (BMU) for an innovation conference last week.
The conference, hosted by BMU in Delhi, was held in partnership with Imperial, as well as Robert H. Smith School of Business and Lee Kong Chian School of Business at Singapore Management University.
The two day event included presentations from academia, industry and policy makers focusing on the topic of Innovation. Imperial represented a large proportion of international speakers at the event, with Professor G ‘Anand’ Anandalingam, Dean of Imperial College Business School, Dr Kalyan Talluri, Dr. Sankalp Chaturvedi, Dr. Tommaso Valletti, Prof. Eric Yeatman, and Dr. Mark Kennedy all speaking.
Imperial College Business School signed a Memorandum of Understanding with BMU in 2013 to provide assistance in developing its School of Management. The Business School serves as a mentor institution to BMU, helping to form, develop and grow its School of Management. The collaboration encompasses both research and education activities, such as this conference.
Prof. Anandalingam said of the event: “It was a pleasure to bring Imperial’s expertise to the BMU International Innovation Conference. We are a mentor institution to BMU, and are proud to support the development of their School of Management. It was great to see our own academics presenting alongside BMU, Robert H. Smith School of Business and Singapore Management University, at what was a most interesting event.”
Topics covered areas such as Frugal innovation, Service Innovation, Digital Innovation, Social Innovation, and Business Model Innovation, with the aim being to facilitate future joint research, networking and sharing of research output through publications.
Dr. Mark Kennedy, Director – Imperial Business Analytics, spoke about his paper on ‘’Lifeboat Logic’ – how we can spot and survive storms of disruption’, and was awarded best paper at the conference.
