I was so excited for my day trip to Oxford City, as it’s one of the cities on my list of places to visit to make the most out of my one year at Imperial College Business School.

After the hour long bus drive we arrived in Oxford to be greeted by our guide, who gave us a walking tour of the city and explained to us the rich educational and cultural history Oxford has to offer. The weather wasn’t as rainy and gloomy as it was when I visited the Houses of Parliament, but I did need four layers of clothing to stay warm!

Oxford is home to royalty and scholars and has been an established town since the 9th century. We saw various buildings on campus, such as the Bodleian Library, where there is a copy of every copyrighted book, and the Radcliffe Camera, which is the most recognisable and photographed building in Oxford. We even caught a glimpse of a graduation ceremony!

We weren’t able to go punting, which I have heard is an amazing experience and a great way to view the city. I guess I will have to leave it for my trip to Cambridge, where I’ve heard is just as beautiful.

Next on my list…my day trip to Bath and Lacock!
