My name is Josefine, and I am privileged to announce that I am among the first students to attend the new exciting MSc programme at Imperial College Business School – MSc Climate change, Management & Finance. Not only do I attend this fantastic course, but I also get the opportunity to document this exciting journey and share it with those of you who are interested in the combination of business and climate change. So I guess I should start with an introduction of my story.
With only ten days of foreign experience (read: a family vacation in Thailand 2014) a brave woman expatriated over the North Sea to London to start a journey that would change her life. Back in Norway, she did an undergrad in finance and fancied long cross-country ski trips in her spare time. The crossing journey placed her in arguably the most global city in the world, without access to Norwegian mountain water coming from the sink or nature surrounding her. However, five months later she is still in London. She has Hyde Park as her garden and is drinking filtered water from the spring. More importantly, she has the time of her life with the most interesting people surrounding her. She also encounters exciting challenges every day at one of the top universities in the world. Life has never been better, and memories are made every week and perhaps every day. And she doesn’t miss Norway at all, in fact, she is very excited to experience London for many weeks to come.
So if you have ever considered studying in London, or anywhere else in the world, but are scared of how it will turn out – because it is too large, far away or unfamiliar – I can assure you that you will never regret to take the step and do it. For me, an ambitious yet comfortable girl, it was the best decision I have made in my life. I look forward to sharing both what I have experienced to this date and what is coming up! In the meanwhile, take care and save the planet. – Josefine
