Mohamad El Omar

Job title: Sub-contracting Procurement Manager

Organisation: KONE Corporation

Location: Nice, France

Nationality: Lebanon/France

Born and raised in Lebanon, Mohamad El Omar moved to France at age 18 to pursue his higher education in mechanical engineering. As the Sub-Contracting Procurement Manager for KONE France, he is responsible for the sub-contracting development as well as managing a nine-person team.

Relocating internationally, including a year spent in the United States for a student exchange project, has enabled Mohamad to celebrate diversity and embrace new cultures with ease. He hopes that studying the Global Online MBA programme will further develop his understanding of how culture impacts the way of thinking in the business environment.

The induction week was a great experience; Imperial is a great place to be and I felt privileged spending time with brilliant people from across the globe. Believe it or not, one week was more than enough to make new friendships that will last long!

Tega Erhiwha

Job Title: Power Plant Project Superintendent

Organisation: Lagos Deep Offshore Logistics Base (LADOL Free Zone)

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Nationality: Nigeria

Falling in love with physics and mathematics in high school and excelling at his university studies in Electrical Engineering, Tega has spent the past five years in various fields in energy and engineering.

As a Power Plant Superintendent at LADOL Free Zone, Tega works on large-scale multi-billion dollar projects including power plants, water reticulations and more. His interest in this work has motivated him to drive his career in the direction of entrepreneurship in the power and gas industry. Tega has decided to pursue an MBA to achieve this goal.

My experience can be described in one word: awesome! This is one of the few words that can describe sitting in a class filled with over 60 professionals, from 25 countries for five days. During the induction week, I had the opportunity to bond and learn the cultures of both students and faculty. Moreover, if you are introverted like me, you are sure to spring out of your shell, as there are out of classroom activities such as dinners and cocktail parties that provided an opportunity to network actively.

The induction week was a breath of fresh air to me. I really liked to meet the programme team who were doing their best to make our experience great, and, of course, the cohort – motivated professionals, vocal, intelligent and nice people. It inspired me and made me feel proud of being part of the community.
