Time has slipped through my fingers. It has been the sixth month since I came to London. The pressure of making career progression in London is higher than I expected.
Although I am studying a MSc in Economics, I am actually in love with paintings and classical music (piano and clarinet). One of the reasons why I love Europe and London is that I can always visit different art museums and galleries. I still remember my last visits to the National Gallery in London, Louvre Museum and Palace of Versailles in Paris, Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam and the Berliner Philharmoniker.
I have learnt painting and piano for over 10 years, and started my clarinet life in an orchestra during high school. Being abroad learning new things again and looking for new career opportunities, I sometimes miss the time when I can paint and practice the pieces of Debussy in Hong Kong. I really appreciate that at Imperial, we actually have access to a piano practice room and we have lunchtime concert every Thursday!
When I was quite stressed last week, my friends suggested that I should paint. I took out my sketchbook and painting brushes and spent a night in my own world of painting. I felt so happy and my stress was released! Sometimes, we just need to spend time doing what we love in order to give us extra energies to go further in life.
I started learning water-colour painting last year by myself. You can take a look at some of my paintings that I did for practice
It’s time for me to pick up my painting and piano habit back up.
