Join us to celebrate 25 years of excellence in financial research, teaching excellence, and professional advancement for the graduates of the MSc in Finance programme at Imperial College Business School.

It’s hard to believe that is has been 25 years since the first MSc Finance class graduated from the Business School, and to celebrate the accomplishments of our graduates we are hosting a high-profile celebration in May 2023. Join us to hear from top speakers from across Imperial College London and from the financial services industry. This event will also allow you to reconnect with your fellow graduates over drinks and canapes, and one of London’s most prestigious locations.

We will also be inviting Business School advisory board members, representatives from key corporate partners, and recognising some of our most talented graduates. Please note a limited number of spaces will also be made available for current students, faculty, programme leadership, as well as professional staff members and external guests.

Where in London is the Event Happening?

We will be hosting alumni, faculty, business school leadership, and other industry leaders who have shown their continuous support to the school and its programmes at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in London, which faces on to Hyde Park.

Who Are the Speakers and What is the Finance for Good Panel About?

You will be introduced to the speakers by James Sefton and Lara Cathcart from the MSc Finance Programme. It will also feature a welcome from Dean Francisco Veloso.

As part of the upcoming 25th Anniversary Celebrations of the MSc in Finance at Imperial College Business School we’ll be hosting Professor Mary Ryan, Imperial’s Vice Provost of Research and Enterprise for a keynote address that will look at new carbon capture techniques, and the technology that will facilitate Net Zero outcomes.

After Professor Ryan’s keynote address, we’ll then feature an expert panel with representatives from a range of organisations that have the sources of capital required to fund small scale innovation straight through to the system-level infrastructure required to deliver a more sustainable future. Financing the green revolution will require the largest mobilisation of capital since the industrial revolution, and so it’s important to think broadly in terms of source of capital.

The expert panel will focus on the topic of “Finance for Good” and we have been able to confirm experts from government (Innovate UK) and pension funds (LGPS), to major ESG players like Blackrock, and specifically from their Sustainable and Solutions Group. From the other end of the spectrum, we’ve confirmed speakers from the PE and social impact investing space, both of which are sources of funding that are critical to funding innovations that may start small, but then can quickly be scaled. Why Should You Attend?

We’re very proud of the excellent work our alumni do, and much of it is possible due to the kind and generous support of a broad set of stakeholders including the firms that hire our graduates, the faculty and researchers to help our students deliver real impact upon graduates, the career and alumni teams that provide ongoing support to graduates during and after the programme, as well as all kinds of other leaders such as advisory board members and donors who make Imperial College Business School the go-to institution for expertise in finance.

So join us to reconnect with senior leaders from across the financial sector, get fresh insights from leading academics and practitioners, and to participate in a lively debate about how finance can be a force good with regards to some of society’s biggest challenges.
