Panel discussion: 'Winning the War and Winning the Peace'

Date:  Thursday 23 February

Time: 17.00 GMT

Location: Imperial College London, Roderic Hill building, Executive Education teaching space. Please enter the RH building from Prince Consort Road and follow signs for Executive Education.

Moderator: Joshua Bower-Saul, Founder at Ukraine Tomorrow

Speakers:

  • Orysia Lutsevych, Ukraine Forum Leader at Chatham House
  • Harry Halem, Research Fellow, Foreign Policy and Defence at Policy Exchange

Our speakers and moderator include London-based analysts, notably in defence policy, political science, social development and on-the-ground foundation and charity experience. This includes professor and author Andy Wilson, as well as Orysia Lutsevych, leader of the Ukraine Forum at Chatham House, Harry Halem, Research Fellow, Foreign Policy and Defence at Policy Exchange, and Joshua Bower-Saul, Founder of the new UkraineTomorrow platform.

Our goal is to spark discussion among participants and contributors from London universities, think tanks, the youth of the UK, and all supporters of Ukraine.

We want to address the issues of the war, but also the challenges of the peace and how to bridge the gap to a new Ukraine.

The solemn vigil

Time: Thursday 23 February

Time: 19.00 GMT

Location: Royal Albert Hall steps

The panel will be followed by a 30-minute vigil at the stairs behind the Royal Albert Hall. We will conduct a silent procession carrying electronic candles along the stairs of the Royal Albert Hall. Inspiring and commemorating speeches will be held, urging the invader to surrender.

We invite you to be part of this message to motivate our friends, brothers, and sisters fighting on the frontline in Ukraine.

How to attend

You may wish to attend one or both of the events. Bring your family and friends. Let’s show the world we care about the innocent lives being lost every day in Ukraine!

You may attend either event for FREE or by making a donation - we suggest £5, £10 or £20 - which will contribute to the Ukrainian charities Leleka Foundation and Come Back Alive.

What we provide for the vigil participants:

  • Electronic candles will be handed out
  • Tea and Ukrainian pastry will be served at the end of the panel
  • Hot tea is available for the Vigil
  • Ukraine-themed badges

What you might need to bring:

You are welcome to bring Ukrainian flags. Please respect the vigil and refrain from bringing any other flags or banners. Thank you.
