Knowledge Imperial College

Identifying where knowledge exists in large professional service firms is a challenge. Understanding where it is and how to harness it to develop creative solutions and capabilities is important for organisational competitiveness and client need. Through collaborative projects with Arup and Atkins, Innovation Studies Centre researchers analysed internal expertise and HR systems, creating a visual map identifying skills commonalities across the firm.

The video below explains how Professor Ammon Salter and Dr Paola Criscuolo used their research insights to recommend changes to both organisations that would improve knowledge flow and maximise their utilisation of internal information.
