Understanding the ways in which scientific research contributes to the economy and how best to exploit it is a crucial step in revitalising UK business. Through research projects emanating from the EPSRC Innovation Studies Centre, Business School staff are examining two key perspectives – first how the pharmaceutical industry is developing collaborations with universities in order to lower costs; and second how academic research from the university perspective can have wider economic or social impact.
