I’m still in disbelief that 2 months have passed since I began my Full-Time MBA journey at Imperial College Business School. It barely feels like a week since I embarked on my 15hr flight halfway across the world, from Singapore to London. To begin with, I used to work as a Foreign Exchange Trader at a private bank and I chose to do an MBA to learn more about general management, and to explore what are the other career options available.

The first few weeks of school were an intense experience. Coming from a world where brevity is essential (we make Donald Trump’s tweets seem like an essay!), to writing multi page reports, took some getting used to. Having done my undergrad in Business, I’ve studied some of the core modules like Organisational Behaviour and Marketing before. However, the classroom becomes so much more engaging and immersive when learning in a class with 77 other international students bringing insights from years of experience from different industries.

As they say, a picture speaks a thousand words, so here are some of the highlights from my first 2 months:

Team “It’s Business Time” at the IB quiz night

Our first Farmer’s Market experience, sitting at the steps of the Queen’s Tower

Our Thai food experience at Suda Thai in SOHO

The running crew having a training run at Hyde Park, we signed up for a half marathon in December

Celebrating Chinese Moon Festival at Gradpad

Celebrating Halloween and Sam’s birthday
