Online registration

Once you have completed your offer conditions, you will be able to formally register online for your programme up to one month before your programme starts. Find out what you need to have completed before you can start registration.

Once you have completed your offer conditions, you will be able to formally register online for your programme up to one month before your programme starts. Before you can start registration, you will need to have done the following:

  • Uploaded a picture of yourself for your student ID card.
    Tip: make sure you have access to a digital photo for upload before you commence the online registration process

You must ensure that you have completed the online registration before you can begin your studies.

You will be able to formally register online up to one month before your programme starts once you have met all of your offer conditions and your visa has been issued.

You will need to upload a colour copy of your visa to the passport/visa tile on your My Imperial portal. Please note that if you are applying for your visa from within the UK you can upload a copy of your current BRP card and proof of your new visa application to be cleared for online enrolment. You must ensure that you have completed the online registration before you can begin your studies.

  • For non-EU/EEA students you will be able to formally register online before your programme starts provided you have uploaded a copy of the photo page of your passport.

  • For Home/EU/EEA students you do not need to upload a copy of your passport so please complete online registration as per the instructions.

Instructions for online registration

  1. Log in to My Imperial student portal.

  2. Click on ‘My Student Record’.

  3. Select your programme and click on 'Online Enrolment'.

  4. An error message will appear if you need to enter any required information before continuing with registration.

  5. You will need to enter a term time address; if you do not have one yet, just enter your home address to proceed with registration.

  6. Once you have completed all the required information, please read the privacy notice along with the terms and conditions and tick the box to show you accept them. Once you have done this, your registration is complete and you will be able to access your online enrolment confirmation.

  7. You will now be registered. You will be given your ID card at Induction if you have registered and uploaded a passport sized photograph by 26 August. If you register or upload a photograph after this date, there may be a delay in issuing your ID card.
