As a Business School Offer Holder or Student you have access to the interactive online Careers Pre-sessional on the Hub detailed below. It is strongly recommended you complete these steps before you start on campus but is available to you throughout your time on campus.
We have broken your pre-sessional career journey down in to simple steps that require completing in this order:
Step 1 – Completion of the Foundations for Careers Success module
The aim of this module is to equip you with the tools to identify your career goals and to help you to achieve them. The module’s will help you develop your career strategy, understand how to effectively market yourself and ultimately find a career that is right for you.
Step 2 – Writing Your CV module
This module will help you to understand the key elements that form an Imperial College Business School CV such as Competencies, Impact and Presentation. You will also reflect on the importance of a CV from the recruiter’s perspective and build a first draft Imperial College Business School CV.
Step 3 – CV Enhancement Platform – VMock
As soon as you have 100% completed ‘Step 2 – Writing Your CV module’ you will receive the link to our CV Enhancement Platform. This platform which was created by VMock uses data supplied by our service along with machine learning and artificial intelligence to look at your CV and make suggestions for you to improve your CV to our Imperial College Business School benchmark.
Step 4 – Uploading your Imperial College Business School CV to Symplicity your Career Management System
Symplicity is your portal to the service – Book 1:1 appointments with a Careers Consultant, View and Book Employer Events, View Employers, Addition to the Imperial College Business School CV Book, Use of our eResources. After achieving the benchmark score on VMock you will gain access to Symplicity where you will be required to upload the Imperial College Business School CV you achieved the benchmark score with.
MSc Admitted Students are required to complete all of the above steps in sequential order before full access to our service’s 1:1 appointments, eResources and drop-ins is made available.
