Growing up in the Caribbean I have always been involved with the environment and developed a desire to protect it. While pursing my studies in Geography and Environmental Science at A’ levels I became more aware of the threats that not just the environment, but we as humans face because of our actions. I pursued my Undergraduate studies in Mathematics and Earth Sciences to further understand the Earth System, and later pursued an MSc in Hydrology and Water Resources Management as water shortages was one of my main concerns regarding Climate Change. However, being a strict Science student I decided to pursue the MSc Climate Change Management and Finance to make me a more rounded professional as I realised the response of businesses and industries to these effects is integral in managing the demands for resources and addressing foreseen challenges.
In particular I chose Imperial College Business School because not only is it highly ranked and located in London, but this programme and the combination of modules being offered were unique to the United Kingdom and offered me the opportunity to merge my knowledge of Science with my limited Business background. I chose to be a part of the Student Ambassador Scheme so that I can help to enlighten prospective students about the course, the many opportunities, activities and services available to them through the programme and the Business School, and to offer advice and comfort to those who like myself may be of a strict Science or Business background.
