Coming to Imperial College Business School was one of the best decisions I have ever made. First of all, studying finance in London, one of the largest financial centres in the world, is absolutely exciting. As an Imperial student, I have a lot of opportunities to meet the companies I want to work for because they will either come to the school or invite students over to Canary Wharf. Another thing that attracted me was the School’s dedicated Career and Professional Development Service and strong alumni network. It can be hard to secure a job, and I think talking with the alumni and careers consultant is very helpful.
I studied finance and economics in Canada for my bachelor’s degree, and I’m especially interested in corporate finance. The MSc Finance and Accounting programme appealed to me as a sophisticated combination of rigorous financial theories and practical application in the industry. We share most of our core modules with the other three finance masters and also have a pool of elective modules to choose from. I also find programming and database courses such as Matlab and Bloomberg very useful.
If you are considering applying for Imperial College Business School but not sure if it’s right for you, feel free to contact me. I hope my story can help you make the best decision.
