MSc Finance

Studying MSc Finance

Why did you choose to study MSc Finance at Imperial College Business School?
Imperial College Business School offered an interesting mix of courses available, as well as great networking opportunities with London-based financial institutions.

What advice would you give to a prospective student considering studying here?
The programme offers excellent electives which will allow you to tailor your degree as you see fit – if you know what you want out of your education, they’re an excellent way to further your knowledge in a focused manner.

Career & professional development

How has the Business School helped develop your career?
The MSc Finance gave me a lot of important hard and soft skills that were essential to furthering my consulting career – including financial modelling, corporate finance and negotiation. Networking events introduced me to a lot of essential business connections that I still use to this day.

What do you enjoy most about your work and what are the main challenges that you face?
As a management consultant, my most important asset is flexibility. On a single client, I could simultaneously be working on Logistics, IT and Financial Services projects, which all required different approaches and skills. It requires not only a breadth of knowledge, but also creativity and a penchant for innovative solutions to unique situations.

The alumni network

How do you stay connected with others from your Business School alumni network?
Most alumni of our programme stayed in London, so keeping in touch locally is fairly easy. And of course modern social networks allow you to stay in touch even with classmates who move abroad to pursue their careers.
