I chose to study MSc Finance in order to advance my technical knowledge of finance. The best part about the course is how practical the modules are. In our first lecture of Business Valuation our Professor used to be an Equity Research Analyst and shared with us his own techniques of analysing various factors. This really helped me feel like I was actually on the job of a Research Analyst.
I selected Imperial College Business School as my institution of choice not only due to its excellent global reputation but also because of the numerous opportunities available for students to pursue. There are numerous Student Societies to join which even include learning languages as a part of their weekly schedule. The Investment Society holds events where we can meet potential employers, apply for leadership positions such as Head of Foreign Exchange for the Society and also debate current affairs helping us advance our commercial awareness which is vital if wanting to work within the Investment world. Our career modules are also one-of-a-kind, they helped reduce stress for interviews as they prepared me so much, knowing exactly how to answer various questions.
I joined the Student Ambassador Scheme as when I was awaiting to hear back regarding my application to Imperial, I was incredibly excited having done my research on all the opportunities here at the Business School and was constantly thinking about how I wish to give back. I want to allow prospective students to feel that excitement that I felt too, to help them realize how much your life can change being a part of Imperial.
