Where to live
London boasts a number of neighbourhoods, each with a different culture, feel and personality. Popular areas close to South Kensington include Knightsbridge, Earl’s Court, Shepherd’s Bush, White City, Fulham, Putney, Clapham Junction and Battersea.
Imperial’s Accommodation Office offer useful advice on different areas including video summaries, transport links and average rent per week.
Moving to London can seem a bit daunting at first, but it is actually one of the easiest cities to navigate and manage. All of the neighbourhoods have a distinct feel to them, so everyone can find a place where they feel at home in the city. My advice to someone moving here is to take the time when you first arrive to explore different neighbourhoods by foot and really get to know the city so that you can find your own happy place in the city to return to whenever you need a break.
