Academic and industry experience before Imperial
What work experience/internships did you have before beginning with Imperial College Business School
I have previously worked at Legacy Global Project Pvt. Ltd. as an Investment and Financial Analysist for one year and also a six months internship in Project Tendering and Operations Management.
Why did you decide to study an MSc in Management and why specifically at Imperial College Business School?
Because it is a highly ranked university, has leading teaching staff, and provides networking opportunities, such as with key speakers at events who are visiting from top companies who can help in prospective careers.
What makes the MSc Management at Imperial College Business School unique?
Group work, interactions in class events, and hands on experience with realistic projects e.g. working with companies like BearingPoint on real business models and providing a consulting solution.
What has been the most challenging part of the programme?
The program was highly time constrained. I have had to disregard other opportunities to focus on course work and exams because of the short time.
Which has been your favourite module so far and why?
- Innovation – practical project exposure and detailed technical aspects.
- Global Operations and Project – The professor gave students the opportunity to improve on presentation skills, the opportunity to work on supply chain, and the opportunity to gain project management skills. This module was a blend of different skills sets.
Which pathway (Digital Business, Financial Services or Strategy and Leadership)have you chosen and why?
Strategy and Leadership – my career focus is towards strategy. I have gained potential experience in this field and my consulting firm soon to be launched is in strategy. Leadership is something I believe I have, as I set my team up and have gained a few clients.

Career goals and jobs

Life as a student in London
Do you think studying in a central location such as London is beneficial for networking and career opportunities? Please share any positive experiences you have had.
It is important for the location as it is centrally located and is easy to connect with most parts of the city. I guess, most people who come to be part of Imperial events as external members, are happy to do so based on the location. I had a lot of opportunities to meet with such members from the networking events.
What can a weekend in London look like for an MSc student?
Consider each minute important as the programme is intense and you will come up with many opportunities individually or in a group. But remember Imperial will be the backbone to many successes in your professional career. Invest your time wisely and you will make a wise decision and will credit that decision to Imperial.
If you had to move to London for the programme, what have been the benefits and challenges of moving to London? What advice would you give to someone in a similar position?
Honestly, it is a good opportunity to receive an education from here, not many can afford it. The reason does not just limit to financial commitments but also opportunity.
Advice for future students
What advice would you give someone who is thinking about applying for the programme?
Make the best use of your opportunities. It is a single investment in a competitive career. Time, resources, expertise and professional advice are strong keys to a strong career and your success.
