– Conducted a market research project for engineering plastics in the Nigerian market as part of market development department
– Interned at KPMG Nigeria in the marketing department
Awarded the Lancaster Award during my BSc Business Studies degree at Lancaster. This award recognises the top 10% of the University, on the basis of student involvement and achievements outside the study programme. Criteria to achieve this included gaining work-related experience, undertaking campus and community activity, and participating in workshops facilitated by Careers.
Why did you decide to study an MSc in Strategic Marketing and why specifically at Imperial College Business School?

What aspects of the programme do you most enjoy?
The course structure with the selection of various module components including Digital Marketing, Pricing, Strategy, Product Management, etc provides a holistic and in-depth understanding of Marketing practices. Further, the strong emphasis on real-life case studies enables students to get a true understanding of marketing practices with a focus on digital media.
What has been the most challenging part of the programme?
Back to back deadlines throughout the terms required us to exercise great time management skills.
What has been the most rewarding part of the programme?
Imperial attracts talents from across the globe. Hence the classroom interactions enables students to get different perspectives under one room
Which has been your favourite module so far and why?
The most anticipated module for me prior to the start of this programme was Digital Marketing and it lived up to my expectation. This module proved significant in familiarising me with key digital terms and concepts which is the marketing jargon of the future.
How would you sum up the Business School faculty?
The faculty at Imperial are practicing mangers from the industry, hence their insights are particularly relevant to the current market scenario.
Imperial places a large emphasis on group work, what inspires you the most about working in this type of environment?
It proved a platform to get a feel of the real dynamics of a work place and helps shape and hone skills to perform effectively in a group of different skills and talents.
How would you describe your cohort at Imperial?
The best talents with diverse work experience provides massive scope for learning through interactions.
What clubs, societies or other activities have you been involved in at Imperial?
Being the SSC Career Leader 2015-2016 enabled me to voice my opinion and provide valuable feedback to further improve the programme structure for the prospective students.
How have you benefited from the services provided by the Career and Professional Development Service?
The Careers and Professional Development Service proved to be extremely useful in giving me direction in selecting the most suitable career path and shortlisting the companies to apply to.
How have you benefited from being part of the wider Imperial College London community?
The Imperial brand associated with my name has given me an immediate acceptance in the academic and professional spectrum.
Do you think studying in a central location such as London is beneficial for networking and career opportunities? Please share any positive experiences you have had.
The location in London, the commercial hub of the world, enjoys a strategic position for networking across the globe.
What are your future career goals and how have they been realised since being at Imperial?
My future goal is to set up my own enterprise and this has been a stepping-stone towards it.
What are your career aspirations upon completing the programme?
My career aspiration is to work for a year and then start my own line of business in luxury/premium goods.
Whereabouts do you live in London and why did you choose to live there?
Hammersmith! Hammersmith, located in zone 2, has got the two largest tube stations and is very well connected. Further, the proximity of Hammersmith from Imperial College (South Kensington) is about four stops on the Piccadilly line.
If you had to move to London for the programme, what have been the benefits and challenges of moving to London? What advice would you give to someone in a similar position?
The proximity of your accommodation to the university is very crucial in saving travel time as a Master’s programme is highly intensive and demanding.
What advice would you give someone who was thinking about applying for the course?
It is important to have some work experience before pursuing the course.
