TestPlant (Part B): The Acquisition Experience

By September 2012, TestPlant had completed its acquisition of Facilita. Within three months, George Mackintosh and his team had successfully integrated the new testing tools into their EggPlant product range. The transition however, had required some changes to TestPlant’s top management team, including the replacement of its CTO and Finance Director. The company had doubled in size, with a new development centre in the UK and international sales offices in San Francisco and Shang Hai. George was now employing nearly 60 people and the organisation was beginning to require formal HR processes and more efficient ways of coordinating activities across multiple time zones.
