MBA Inauguration Day at BML University (BMU)
On 19th August 2014 the MBA Programme at BMU was launched.
Imperial College London and BMU have co-designed the curriculum, Imperial having played a key role in establishing IIT Delhi. At BMU, Imperial College will facilitate student and faculty exchange programmes, conduct joint research activities and establish digital learning platforms. There will also be opportunities for students to join innovation camps and credit-based courses in London. In addition to this, select BTech students will have the opportunity to undertake a one-year MSc programme at the Imperial College Business School.
Professor Gerry George and Dr Sankalp Chaturvedi from Imperial College Business School were present for the launch, alongside the promoters of the Hero Group – Mr Sunil Kant Munjal (Chancellor, and Founder Chairman, BML Educorp Services), Mr Akshay Munjal (Executive Director, BML Educorp Services), Shri Brij Mohan Lall Munjal (Chairman, Hero Group) and Dr Prem Kumar (Director).
Surya Adury, part of the inaugural MBA cohort shared his views on the first three days of the orienteering process “During the first day of the orientation, we were told about the case studies, experiential learning, the vision that’d drive BML and a lot of things that were unique to BML.
Many sessions had happened in the 2 days of orientation; we had Anuradha from Shell foundation, Prof Gerry George and Dr Sankalp Chaturvedi from Imperial, a team from Mckinsey and a visit to Hero MotoCorp in Gurgaon.
Prof. Gerry George conducted a case study with us, he forced us to take stands in various contexts in which normally we would be comfortable sitting on the fence. Every decision of ours had a consequence and through this he drilled down in us the importance of making decisions based on our values, principles and convictions. Another big lesson to us was about how money should not influence our decisions and that one must persist hard and there’d eventually be a point where all the hard work would bear fruit.”
