SEI Doctoral Consortium 2013
Date: 21-22 September 2013
Venue: Imperial College Business School
The SEI Consortium is an initiative of faculty from five European business schools – Bocconi University, Copenhagen Business School, HEC Paris, Imperial College London, and London Business School. The organisers are Keld Laursen and Toke Reichstein (CBS), Corey Phelps and Tom Astebro (HEC Paris), Stefano Brusoni (ETH Zürich), Alfonso Gambardella (Bocconi), Ammon Salter and Paola Criscuolo (Imperial), and Gary Dushnitsky (LBS).
The purpose of the consortium was to bring together a select group of doctoral students from European institutions doing research in the areas of strategy, entrepreneurship and/or innovation. The SEI Consortium provided advanced PhD students with the opportunity to present their dissertation-stage research to, and receive feedback from, leading strategy, innovation and entrepreneurship scholars. Opportunities for informal mentoring and networking were provided outside the formal student presentations.
The research network for Strategy, Entrepreneurship & Innovation aims to improve the European doctoral-level education in entrepreneurship, innovation and strategy. Whereas the importance of entrepreneurship for innovation, economic growth, and sustainable development has been clearer than ever before, the field has still been insufficiently recognized by European business research institutes. By organizing an annual conference bringing together leading academics and promising students in the field, the Consortium creates opportunities to discuss new ideas, receive practical research advice, and build stronger connections in the academic field.
The five inaugural schools and current members of the SEI Consortium are:
