In light of COVID-19, we are developing a number of measures to ensure that your Campus Services are ready for the new Academic Year.
This page looks to provide answers to some of our frequently asked questions ahead of Academic Year 2020/21. We also have further information on halls of residence on our accommodation pages.
Will there be catering on campus and, if so, how will it operate?
There will be Catering services available on campus for the beginning of the Academic Year. The Catering team will be introducing a number of changes to food and drink outlets in order to ensure social distancing, including distanced queueing, cashless payments and reduced capacities in-store. You can also download our new Catering app, Dill, so that you can pre-order, pre-pay and pick-up at your chosen time.
Will the gym be open?
Gym and leisure facilities are a vital component of the student experience. We currently anticipate we will be able to open some of our facilities – including Ethos sports centre – before the start of the new academic year. Adaptations will be in place to ensure your safety, including reduced capacities and pre-booking systems. Full details will be published online and when you register for your membership.
Meanwhile, wherever you are, we want to help you keep you fit and active too. Look at the Move Imperial website for the activities we are offering, at home or on campus.
Will I be able to use and park a car if I don't want to use public transport?
There are limited car parking spaces on our campuses. More information can be found on the car parking pages of our website.
How will the Library operate - will I be able to go in and use it?
In accordance with current official government guidance, our library buildings and spaces are closed to students and staff. However, we are operating an online service and our staff are available to answer your enquiries. They can help you to access our extensive collection of online resources which we have taken great pride in developing over a number of years.
We will keep you informed about our plans to reopen the libraries. Please look at the library webpages and see the tab ‘Remote services and library closures’. You can also follow us on Twitter at @imperiallibrary.
If you’re a current student and require a book that is showing as print-only, you should contact your librarian – they will help you source an electronic version or an alternative.
