Career Choice

student taking brochure This is our annual events and Graduate Recruitment Programme publication, which is targeted at final year students (approx. 3,000), but available to all. It is published for the start of the academic year (October) and demand is high throughout the autumn term and beyond. This publication is both hard copy and online, and includes:

  • Details of employer application processes and contact details
  • Employer presentation information
  • Interviewing on campus schedules
  • Recruiter in Residence dates
  • Mock interview dates
  • Careers talks and employer led skills workshop details
  • Display advertising

Application Process Section

A key section of Career Choice, this highlights your intentions to recruit in the coming year, together with the type of student you wish to attract, the application closing date, and method. This section also includes your website and contact details.

Guide to Career Planning

students reading brochures The Guide to Career Planning is produced in association with GTI Specialist Publishers and comes out in October. It is targeted at all Imperial students and has articles such as:

  • ‘Start now to get ahead’
  • ‘The skills hitlist’
  • ‘Ace applications’

It is split into two parts: the first section contains advice and guidance from the Careers Service, and the second contains thousands of job opportunities from leading graduate recruiters.

Plasma screen advertising

student looking at screenYou can advertise your opportunities, events or brand via the new plasma screen in the Careers Service. This is a real opportunity to grab the attention of students, as the plasma is opposite the Careers reception desk and waiting area.

The screen runs as a slideshow, with each slide appearing approximately every 90 seconds.

Cost: £150 + VAT for 2 weeks

DSI Visual Corridor

DSI Visual Corridor

The 12 metre wide DSI Visual Corridor consists of 8 wall panel screens facing the Sherfield walkway. Each individual screen is 1.5m wide x 1.125m tall. 

Additionally, an 84 inch wide touchscreen facility is housed beside the entrance to the Data Science Institute, adjacent to the Visual Corridor.

The Sherfield walkway is a main artery through campus and footfall is an average of 1000 people an hour in term time; at peak times this reaches 1,800 an hour [source: College Masterplanning team, 2014]. 


  1. To publicise the activities and engagement of the Data Science Institute, and more broadly, data science research taking place at Imperial College London.
  2. To educate the College community about Data Science and inform the community about the latest developments in the realm of Data Science.
  3. To help the College promote significant news and events.

Submitting Content 

The DSI encourages staff and students from around the College to make use of the Visual Corridor to promote relevant content from their department. 

Content can be provided in an image format, or video format [MP4 only at this stage]. The DSI is also able to feature content designed to be displayed across multiple screens if it is able to be supplied.
