Students seeking to undertake research work in the Department must normally have a good Honours degree in Chemistry. For PhD, a First or Upper Second Class MSci or MChem Degree (or equivalent) is required.
Most Postgraduates in the department are enrolled on our PhD research programme. Details of this programme can be found in our PG Research Student Handbook 2016-2017.

Please be aware that the selection of students onto our PhD programme is undertaken in the first instance by our Research Sections, in consultation with the relevant academic supervisors. Therefore, before completing the online application form, prospective students are strongly recommended to identify specific research sections, and preferably research groups, whose research topics are of particular interest.
