  • To give the basic knowledge, understanding and skills that are necessary for planning and designing public transport systems.

Learning outcomes

On successfully completing this course unit, students will be able to: 

  • Design and manage public transport systems.
  • Become aware of wider contexts associated with public transport.

  • Students will learn how to conceive, design and implement a public transport system, including several ‘public’ modes.  
  • Students will learn methods of causal analysis and multi-criteria analysis in the context of creating public transport systems
