Other options

Openings at both PhD and post-doctoral level arise often, details will be posted on this page. There are several other funding opportunities, i.e. Imperial Junior Research Fellowships, EU Individual Fellowships (Horizon 2020) etc. If you would like to pursue a project funded by one of these sources and the project intersects our research interests please contact us.

Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowships

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowships represent an opportunity for excellent experienced researchers (four years research experience or a PhD) from anywhere in the world. Researchers who are already at Imperial may be eligible to apply provided they comply with the mobility rule (i.e. they have been in the UK for less than a year out of the last three years from the call deadline for the standard evaluation panels).

Calls for these Fellowships are announced periodically. Guidance and further details for prospective applicants are available via the Imperial EU team here. They will be happy to answer any questions about this funding opportunity.

Newton International Fellowships

This scheme is for non-UK scientists who are at an early stage of their research career and wish to conduct research in the UK. The scheme is jointly run by the British Academy, the Academy of Medical Sciences and the Royal Society. Currently, there is one round per year which opens in January. Here you can find more detailed information about the scheme and the eligibility.

EPSRC Postdoctoral Fellowships

EPSRC fellowships support talented and ambitious researchers to deliver research excellence and lead the UK research base in the evolution of a modern working culture.

The fellowships provide applicants with the flexibility and freedom to design a package that fits their career ambitions, research needs and personal development requirements. The project can focus on discovery science, innovation, instrumentation/technique development or software engineering, or a combination of these.

You can find more information about this scheme here.
