Oil and Gas Reservoirs
The NORMS group research applied to oil and gas reservoirs includes the development of new methods and software to model complex geological architectures and simulate multiphase fluid flow during production.
The group uses these methods to build high resolution models of subsurface reservoirs and reservoir analogues exposed at outcrop. We use novel experimental methods to understand the mineral-surface to pore-scale mechanisms that control improved and enhanced oil recovery, and we are developing new monitoring technologies to track water movement in reservoirs during production. Our research is supported by a wide range of oil and gas companies.
