Training overview
The lens of power, when brought to bear on people’s unique experiences of injustice and inequality, can help unlock not only a better understanding of diversity and inclusion but practical steps they can take to improve relations of power in their immediate environment.
The Power and Privilege workshop seeks to develop an increased awareness of different aspects of identity and power and how they impact interpersonal relationships at Imperial and wider society, and an understanding of the leverage points to create opportunities for improved inclusion.
There are 25 spaces available to all Imperial staff.
This training course is organised by Larissa Kunstel-Tabet, Head of Climate Solutions Catalyst, as part of an EDI Seed Fund project.
Learning Objectives
- Assess your own identity and privilege and understand how these relate to others.
- Analyse how the institutional environment (policy, practice, relationships) shape people’s experience of power.
- Understand how to identify leverage points in the systems participants operate in to influence change.
