Training overview

This course allows participants to gain insight and skills in assessing and addressing the needs of LGBTQ staff/students with mental health issues and gain confidence in dealing with heterosexism, homophobia, biphobia and transphobia. Some of the training objectives include:

  • To promote understanding of LGBTQ mental health, what’s different and why 
  • To explore nuanced inclusion topics and their connection to LGBTQ identities 
  • To deepen awareness of trans issues and trans care pathways 
  • To develop affirmative practice interventions and share best practices 
  • To review information for signposting to LGBTQ specific support
